Grads hairstyle

Ok, so talking from personal experience, you can have the hottest outfit and look really pretty but when it comes to hair, a lot of emphasis needs to be put 'hair' [lmao punny =P]. So yea while everything else is most likely to co-operate with you, your hair may not be so willing! You need to fight frizz, avoid getting it wet when you just got it straightened [talk about timing for little drizzles of rain], avoid it uncurling and try not to touch it too much. Ah yes hair, makes you wish it wasn't there at times, but darn it looks so good when tame you just gotta keep it!
So at least 2 weeks before the big day you want to make any major changes; this involves hair coloring, highlights, chemical straightening/curling  and haircuts. This way you can get used to your changes, fix anything ahead of time and do little necessary touch ups well in advance of grads. You want to practice doing your hair some days in advance if you're doing it yourself. This is so that by the time the day comes, you'll be like a semi pro hairdresser, you'll know whether or not it looks good and you would have had time to change your mind and well to avoid having a major catastrophe occurring on that day, basically. If you're going to the salon then just print out a pic of what you want done, and I'm sure your stylist will make u stylish! =P. So if you have an appointment, ideally it should be for around 1:30.... but times are hard when your hairdresser is booked, so you should really try to book early lolz. If you're doing your own hair, you want to shower and then start your hair around 4 [do hair before makeup]. Be sure to wear a button front shirt, so you don't mess up your hair.
But most of us truly don't know what to do with this thing called hair, sooooo I found these cute hairstyles that are total prom friendly and they look pretty simple to do on your own.
So leaving you hair open is a bit over done even though it's simple and pretty, but why not do a cute side pony thing?! It's young yet it looks classy.

Or this?!?! lolz I guess you would describe this as a loosely clipped up ...half up half down? Idk     but I LIKE IT! lolz.

Or a sophisticated side pony tail which is rarely done but it's cute and practical especially when dancing.

Or you could just clip it all up. Though this is a bit more difficult to do if you're doing your own hair, but practice makes perfect =).

This hairstyle looks so roman goddess-ish especially with that headband [<3], it would be really cool if paired with a roman inspired dress [ go see Grads: White dresses, if you have no idea what I'm talking about].

Ok so why just curls, why not add a lovely clip or head band to your do? Flowers.... Get creative!

The Pompadour!! Glamorous yet rocker chic, you could leave your hair open, tie it up... it just opens up so many possibilities!

Ok so people like to color their hair these rad colors for grads! Usually one matching their dress, but you know how they say too much of a good thing is bad?! So it can be too much, sometimes so why not go for a complimentary color? But even if you are going to go all blue or all purple, why just streaks? Why not portions of hair if not the whole thing?! Idk but having purple hair seems pretty cool. But it would be hard for people with black hair to do this since you would have to go completely blonde first =( [darn it!]. So why not go for 2 colors?! Pink and blue make purple ! So why not do that and skip the same ol' one color thing?!?! And it looks rly cute, with just bangs.

So we're back to the case of accessorizing your hair with clips, flowers, a wreath, feathers, shells, A TIARA!  The thing about tiaras is that you need to consider the tiara: head ratio. You cant have a pretty big head or big hair and buy those tiny arse tiaras they sell in Wonderful World, despite the fact that they're the most wallet friendly. If that's the case well forget about the tiara, you can so rock a clip or rose instead!

This pic pretty much says it all [nicely done, drawer of this pic].

Well well looky here... Braids are soo in!!! That's the trend these days, and well it's pretty practical; a plait for casual events and a french braid for more formal events. I would know since I took to this hairstyle since my hair has gotten long n poofy, it's the only way to tame to the beast lolz. Smh and you thought plaits were just for coolies. So this is pretty easy to do yourself, and you can spruce it up with the any of the things previously mentioned.

Grads makeup

Hmm so having a nice dress and shoes doesn't quite cut it, you have to get the physical down as well. [not that we need it or anything vain* lolz]. Ok well you want to get ur waxes, facials and bleaching done at least a week before the big day. This will allow time to fix anything that may go wrong, God forbid. And well if you're waxing your brows, you want to give it time so that you don't look two toned on that day and well you don't want to do it too early cause some of us have the beast gene  and well you know how it is =S. And well when it comes to makeup, you want to practice your look before hand, buy ur necessary products, don't forget the makeup blotters!!!! [ those rly do save ur life!]. So try out ur makeup looks before hand to see which one looks better and which ones you are capable of executing. If you're getting your makeup done professionally .... while there may be the pro of you looking rel bess and supermodel-ish there are also the cons which usually out weigh the pros. Firstly you need an appointment, and that time may be too early and it starts to wear off as we start to sweat or too late and we have to hurry to get home and get dressed. Secondly, you have no idea what it's going to look like, you can't get a preview on you, so once it's on.... it's on! And there's not much you can do about it. Thirdly, you do not look like you!!! Yea so sum places ahem* Sacha, they really umm idk how else to put this but yea... you rarely recognize yourself when leaving =S. So I can tell you this because I have experience. My parents didn't think that I was capable of doing my own makeup so they insisted that I go get it done, and well the fact that my mom had links n got free makeup certificates did not help my situation lolz. So I was just like ok, yea, what ever and I asked them to do it natural-ish cuz I'm only graduating form 5, and the lady was like sure no problem how she understands [ She was rly nice btw, just thought you all should know] but yea I still didn't look like me and well let's say grads pictures aren't my favorite!
So it's pretty easy to do your own makeup, it's pretty basic stuff. You want a foundation that matches your skin, or else you look ridiculous cause your face looks white and your body is well not the same color =(. With blush, you want to contour your face not look like some kinda psycho doll. Lips you need to know what looks good on you and well my fav... the eyes =)

So these are the basic areas of your eye. You always want to highlight under the brow, where is says highlight, with a bright color preferably white or cream, it opens up your eyes, unless you have huge eyes like me, then that pretty much comes naturally. One of the easiest looks to attain is to sweep one color over the entire lid and then blend a darker color into the outer crease. Pretty standard stuff right? Yea and just follow with your liner and mascara. Or you could start with a light color eg. cream in the inner lid and then sweep the middle and outer lid with a darker color eg. brown and then start on the outer lid and blend a darker color eg. dark brown into the crease =) So you can see that done below lolz.

Ok so you can go for something a little more dramatic but just as easy... the smokey eye. Contouring your eyes with black or any dark color eg. dark brown, navy; pretty much makes you look dramatic. Feel free to use sparkles, it is a night event after all.=) [Love sparkly things =D]

Or we cud do something a little easier but just as beautiful... going neutral. So you want to use neutral colors of cream, white, brown and optionally; black. I love going neutral because you can't look like a clown and well people think you're naturally gorgeous because they can't tell that you're wearing makeup =D lolz. So I guess this is what gets to people, when people put on makeup, they assume that they need to show they're wearing makeup and they need to match their eye shadow to their top and what not. Idk why, but once a Trini is wearing the same color as their top on their eyes, even if its just eyeliners they think its a great look. [ppl, we're talking bout red eyeliner n ting here!!]. Anyways makeup isn't supposed to be a mask that you need to tediously apply, you're main objective is the accentuate what's already beautiful about you =).

Grads shoes

"One shoe can change your life"
                                 -Cinderella

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! So yea I finally got around to this post and well these shoes are just gorgeous!!! So the perfect pair of shoes can tie up any outfit and add that special touch. Let your shoes speak your personality, and well even though that may mean that you can wear a pair of converse, I think that's too cliche. So what about ballet shoes?!?! With a rly cute short, poofy dress?!!? =D. Well you may want to start practicing to walk in heels if you're not so great. Break in your shoes at least 6 days before by wearing socks and walking around, doing little chores. The higher the heel the hotter the shoe but the case with it is.... is it too high?! If you slightly bend your knees while walking in those heels, they're probably too high.

Bling!

Lace!

Red shoes ;)

Love it <3

Studs

So you didn't get that animal print dress... why not an animal print shoe?!

Ok so this may not look so appealing in the pic, but you need to try it on! That lil hangy bling piece actually looks way better on your foot, especially if you have a plain dress [ trust me I have experience with this kinda thing]. So yea if you see this try it on, tho I would prefer a black shoe to silver =/

Colorful!

Beige Faux Leather Hole Punched Peep Toe Bootie Heels

Cute
Ballet shoes!! [see what I mean ;D]

Punk Princess [I'm not by any mean drawing reference to Avril =S].
So yea what about a pair of these instead of converse...

Love it =D
I promote these ankle booties with the wearing of a short dress, I don't rly see it working other wise =S
